Game For a Shoot

So I’ve just come back from a delightful weekend away near Bowmont Valley shoot in Scotland. It was the first time I had visited this particular shoot and I must say I was impressed by the picturesque landscape and quality of the Pheasant and Partridge.
When I heard from some of the fellows at my local shoot that Bowmont Valley was one of the finest high bird shoots in the country, I had to see for myself, and so I packed my tweed and Le Chamaeu Aubrach walking boots and flew up to the Scottish border.
After a few successful morning drives we had a delightful four course lunch of onion soup followed by a Venison haunch, a range of appetising cheeses and fresh bread finished off with a scrumptious Eton Mess.
With a full appetite and a successful morning behind me I completed two more drives and finished off the day with a celebratory glass of slow gin.
As my fellow Guns and I conversed about the accomplishments of the day, it occurred to me that there’s nothing like a good shoot to get you geared up for a week back in the boardroom! At least I’ve got my Pheasant cufflinks to remind me of my trip.
