In a week or so I will be cruising the Caribbean on a luxury cruise, something I have been looking forward to for some months.
I love the atmosphere aboard the ships, with everyone dressed in their finery for dinner and relaxing by the pool in style throughout the day. However, HHon previous cruises I have noticed that some passengers haven’t quite mastered the art of dressing for a cruise.
Here are my recommendations for appropriate cruise attire;
-For men a tuxedo or smart suit and tie will be required for formal dress evenings whilst women should wear an evening gown or cocktail dress.
-No shorts to be worn at dinner.
-Whilst on board the ship jeans should be avoided, instead opt for cotton shorts or trousers.
-For smart/casual evenings a linen suit is a wise investment. Linen is also a favourite fabric of mine to wear in those tropical climates.
-Throughout the day polo shirts or button downs should be worn- absolutely no t-shirts or tropical print shirts!
-Accessories can make all the difference to an outfit so be sure to pack cufflinks, an elegant wallet to hold all of your valuable documents & currency and a bangle or bracelet to add a bit of style to those dressed down day outfits.
