Cufflinks to put a spring in your step

Whilst rambling about the countryside in my favourite hunters followed by a muddy retriever with furiously wagging tail, I came across a carpet of snowdrops, or Galanthus to use their correct name. These hardy plants were surely preparing to flower as glimpses of white could be seen amongst the oppressive browns and greys of the winter ravaged landscape. It was this that reminded me that spring cannot be far away.
Pushing its way through frozen January soil, the snowdrop flowers long before any other plant- from January through to late February and is a well-known sign telling us spring is around the corner. A time for fresh starts, new ideas and resolutions, the New Year and the nature of spring itself is something we shouldn’t forget. In the height of summer when you’re on a luxury holiday soaking up the sun or on chilly November night curled up by the Aga with a warm drink, it is important to remember the goals you set out to achieve.
On a day where I feel I am going off track I choose to wear my enamelled flower cufflinks. They remind me of fresh starts, New Year’s resolutions and the fresh promises of Spring.
