Edible Cufflinks

Deakin & Francis has achieved the latest in breakthrough cuff link technology, edible cufflinks.

Whilst you can’t eat them entirely, these innovative cufflinks taste & smell exactly like the food they were designed to look like.

The range of edible sweets, cupcakes, ice creams and burger cufflinks was created by a food-loving member of the design team. Whilst working on a pair of teasingly tasty looking cupcake cufflinks, he thought If only these cufflinks were real... A couple of weeks and many trials later, the edible cufflinks were created!

Made using a pioneering method of enamel application, real foods were processed and mixed in with the enamel used to finish the cufflinks. This mix of real food and enamel was then applied to the cufflinks as normal and baked slowly in a conventional oven, ensuring that the taste and smell of the food remained whilst the enamel was fused onto the metal.

The result was a fully wearable cufflink which smells and tastes like real food. (Although, we do not advise biting into the cufflinks as they are still made of metal!) The edible cufflink range includes; Strawberries and Cream Sweets, Ice creams, burgers, and vanilla cupcakes.
