Classical Cufflinks for a Classical Evening

Every once in a while, in line with my duties at work, I receive invitations to particular events. At the weekend I was at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Henry Wood Proms to see the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra play. They excellently performed classics by Strauss, Prokofiev and Walton.

Although I am fond of the odd bit of classical music, having been brought up with a working knowledge of it, it is not an event that I would usually choose to go to. A quiet evening in the gods isn’t exactly my idea of a night well spent. Especially with a companion suffering from vertigo!

However, I surprised myself and found myself having a tremendous time. I believe the saying is true; a visit to London at this time without seeing at least one prom, is without doubt, a visit wasted. It is also a brilliant excuse to don a new pair of cuff links for the occasion.
